The LAL administrative department assists researchers and teaching staff in their everyday scientific activity.

The laboratory is an entity accountable to two sponsoring agencies (University Paris Sud, CNRS). Administering the laboratory requires an extensive knowledge of public law, for which the implementation and interpretation often differs between the sponsoring agencies.

The Administrative Departement’s responsibilities include :
- Personnel management for all laboratory employees.
- Management of laboratory procurement in compliance with public law.
- Management of the finances and accounts of the laboratory.

European integration introduces additional administrative complexity. In this area, administrators, researchers, and teaching staff are often faced with specific questions. It is crucial for the LAL to have a strong presence in the many European initiatives and to gain maximum benefit from these European opportunites as they become available.

The Adminstrative Department is actively involved in providing support to conferences initiatives.
